Why Makerlab/STEM Education?

STEM education is an integrated method of teaching and learning science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In 2019, the U.S. Department of Education announced nearly $540 million investment to support STEM education. Due to the demographic dividend and unprecedented technological advancement, opportunities are increasing for the youths.

 

What do we do?

EMK MakerLab is the dreamers’ canvas where imagination, inspiration and innovation go hand in hand. Through EMK MakerLab since 2016, we are working to promote qualitative, inclusive and accessible STEM Education in a platform to provide hands-on experience and creative ways to build, invent and innovate. ‘Empowered by Innovation’- we are marching forward to ensure an easy access to STEM education across the country.

 

How do we do it?

 

The MakerLab at EMK Center imparts both technical and creative skills by organizing workshops and crash courses and training. We arrange events for students to engage the young minds in innovation where participants gain hands-on experience in various technological fields. AT the EMK MakerLab, we host monthly tech meetups to engage peer to peer learning. We have 3D Printing, AR, VR Lab facilities to advance STEM education in Bangladesh.

 

MakerLab Facilities:

 

  • 3D Printing and 3D Scanning: EMK MakerLab allows budding educationalists, enthusiasts and entrepreneurs to create their projects and product prototypes with 3D printing and scanning facilities.
  • Spondon Studio: Spondon Studio is a creative space inside the EMK MakerLab. Separated by a world-class Soundproof Panel, it is the Ideal Audio-Video Studio for recording, mixing & mastering and video and sound editing.
  • Robotics: Robotics is certainly the demand of the era: 4IR. At EMK MakerLab, we feel the urge to equip our beneficiaries with the necessary robotic and electronic skills in order for them to adapt to the fast pacing world.
  • Workshop Space: We are capable of hosting small and large scale events: conferences, workshops and more. Our spacious and comforting sitting arrangement are coupled with modern amenities accordingly.
  • Golpo Studio: We have upgraded Golpo Studio by introducing Hi-Tech modernistic features like AR and VR Studio, Game Development, YouTube Studio keeping our beneficiaries’ needs in mind.
