RE-VISUALIZATION Exhibition

The exhibition going on!
EMK Center is delighted to invite you to visit the ”RE-VISUALIZATION Exhibition”.
The mobile photography exhibition RE-VISUALIZATION is an endeavor of portraying the living reality of the urban Dalits in Bangladesh. Historically, the Dalits have been discriminated because of their work and descent-based identity, and their potentials have also been ignored.
Socially imposed systematic discrimination against the community has pushed them to the margin which, however, could not break their mental strength and limit their aspirations. This photography exhibition is not only a testimony to how individuals of a marginalized community can utilize their potential to do anything they love but also work to promote their community if there is a favorable environment to perform.
This event is the culmination of Project Revisualization, started in April 2023, under the EMK Small Grant 2023 with the aim of capacitating some potential Dalit youths with basic mobile photography and videography skills through training so that they can promote their community and work for upholding their rights utilizing the earned skills and knowledge. All the photographs in this exhibition are the work of a total of nineteen (19) Dalit youths, aged 16-24 years old, from Dhaka city who participated in the training.
